Deck of the Week for 11/21/2016

Our client desired an outdoor retreat to enjoy summer evenings, but also wanted to preserve their yard and budget. Safety being our top priority, Deck and Basement Co. always utilizes a middle landing for walk-out foundations to control bounce and the integrity of the deck. However, added footings + added stairs = added costs and less yard. Our solution on this project was to build the stairs to land on our Azek inground landing cut into the hill, eliminating the middle landing and using the landscape as the bottom set of stairs.

The interior of the porch features premium, prefinished cedar for the ceiling and house wall along with Screeneze aluminum screen track. This system keeps screens tight and makes easy replacement of screens when the dog, kids or life pokes a hole. The deck and porch posts are wrapped with Azek white sheet stock which ties in nicely with the white Ultralox aluminum railings. To eliminate butt joints on this 40’ long project we designed a mullion board running opposite of the Azek Brownstone deck boards for a clean seamless look.
